A Recidivist Robber Arrested in Rivne Region

The offender has repeatedly had legal issues due to illegal possession of weapons and drugs, but has not reformed. During his probation period, he committed another crime.

This is reported by Rivne24

In December of last year, a 43-year-old resident of the village of Franyivka, while on the highway near the village of Symoniv in the Hoshcha territorial community, broke into an unlocked “Mercedes-Benz” vehicle. He stole a jacket that contained a wallet with approximately 5,000 hryvnias and a passport.

Additionally, in January of this year, the man illegally cut down trees in the Rivne district without the appropriate permit.

The investigator informed the detainee of the suspicion of committing crimes under part 4 of Article 185 (theft committed with breaking and entering during martial law), part 3 of Article 357 (illegal possession of a passport), and part 3 of Article 246 (illegal logging in the territory of a nature reserve) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The court decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 66,560 hryvnias, which the man was unable to pay.

The investigator has completed the pre-trial investigation, and the case materials have been submitted to the court.

Among the aggravating circumstances is the recidivism of the crimes, while the mitigating circumstance is the sincere remorse of the detainee.
