Alla Ukrainets Awarded the Hanna Leonchuk Prize for Cultural Preservation

Alla Ukrainets, a senior researcher at the Rivne Regional Local History Museum, has been awarded the regional Hanna Leonchuk Prize for her efforts in preserving and protecting intangible cultural heritage.

This year, four candidates were submitted for the competition, but the commission unanimously chose Alla Ukrainets, a recognized researcher, local historian, and ethnographer, who is also a distinguished worker in the culture of Ukraine.

The Hanna Leonchuk Prize is awarded annually to folklorists, ethnographers, scholars, and cultural figures who make significant contributions to the preservation of folk traditions. The monetary award amounts to 25,000 hryvnias.

For over 40 years, Alla Ukrainets has been engaged in issues related to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage and is the initiator of the folklore-ethnographic festival “Museum Hospitality.”
