At a young age, he served in the army, and in 2015, Viktor joined the defense of Ukraine during the anti-terrorist operation. After returning to civilian life, he worked for himself – traveling abroad, renovating houses and apartments.

On the second day of the full-scale invasion, Viktor volunteered to join the military. He was a respected figure among his comrades, as he had combat experience – known for his calmness and composure. Even in the toughest moments, he maintained optimism.

“He could do everything – he was a creative person. There were no tasks he couldn’t handle. He loved crafting, making jewelry from amber. He was passionate about art – he loved to paint. After returning from the war, he wanted to enroll in an institute to study rehabilitation,” said Viktor’s wife.

Unfortunately, 45-year-old Senior Sergeant Viktor Petruskevych was killed on February 16, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Donetsk region. He was considered missing in action – only now has the identity of the deceased been confirmed.

Viktor is survived by his wife, two children, father, and sister.

The farewell to Viktor Petruskevych will take place on Friday, October 31, at 10:00 AM at Independence Square in Rivne. The serviceman will be buried at the cemetery in the village of Bronnyky in the Rivne district.
