Starting December 1, a ban on catching river crayfish will be introduced in the Rivne region.

In order to preserve and protect the population of river crayfish during their molting and spawning periods, the Rivne Fish Protection Patrol is establishing a ban on the catch of aquatic invertebrates from December 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026 (inclusive).
Violating this ban may result in penalties, including administrative fines and criminal liability. Additionally, offenders are required to compensate for damages caused to the fishery.
According to current regulations, the compensation for one illegally caught crayfish is 3,332 hryvnias.
