The organization of dosimetric census of settlements affected by the Chernobyl disaster continues in the Rivne region.

At a recent meeting, participants discussed important aspects of conducting the census in 2026. Among the key issues were the coordination of interaction with local communities, ensuring access for mobile groups to sampling sites, and creating mechanisms for open communication during the research.
It is planned that from the end of April to August 2026, work will be carried out in 249 settlements in the Varash and Sarny districts. This includes the collection and analysis of data on soil contamination density with radionuclides of Chernobyl origin, as well as conducting necessary measurements and calculations.
Last year, as part of similar studies in Rivne region, 26 settlements were surveyed. Currently, about 33% of the planned work volume has already been completed.
