The accused explained in court that she simply forgot to submit declarations for three years.
The Dubno District Court made a ruling regarding Maria Panasyuk, a councilwoman of the Verbivka village council and director of the Stovpetsky Lyceum, for the late submission of income declarations. The verdict, issued on September 4, confirms that the official failed to submit declarations for 2021, 2022, and 2023, although she was required to do so by January 31, 2024.

During the court hearing, Panasyuk explained that she was aware of the need to submit the declarations but forgot about it due to work obligations and health issues. She submitted the declarations only in January-March 2025. The councilwoman also expressed hope that she would not violate the law again and requested the court to assign her community service instead of a fine, as her salary as the lyceum director is modest.
Judge Oleksandra Zhukovska found Panasyuk guilty under Article 366-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (failure to submit a declaration by a person authorized to perform state or local government functions) and imposed a penalty of 150 hours of community service. She is also prohibited from holding positions in local government for one year. The court’s decision can be appealed in the appellate court.
