The accident that claimed a woman’s life occurred on December 18 of last year on the Ustilug-Lutsk-Rivne highway near the village of Hrabiv, Rivne district.

The driver of a “Volkswagen Transporter,” a 23-year-old man, failed to consider the safe speed of travel, did not slow down before an unregulated pedestrian crossing, and as a result, hit a 48-year-old resident of Orzhiv who was crossing the road.
Unfortunately, the woman sustained serious injuries and died at the scene of the accident.
The case has been sent to court, where the driver is charged with violating traffic rules that led to the victim’s death.
For committing this fatal traffic accident, the driver may face a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 8 years, as well as deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for up to three years or without such.
