Today, the residents of Dubno gathered to bid farewell to the young Hero – 26-year-old Vitaliy Shum.

Vitaliy took up arms to defend Ukraine at the onset of the full-scale invasion, serving as a squad commander and commander of a drone crew. His life was cut short on November 17, 2025, while carrying out a combat mission in the Kharkiv region.
The Dubno community welcomed their Hero with deep sorrow.
After the memorial service, the funeral procession made its way to the Holy Ascension Church in Dubno (Pidbortsi), where the burial ceremony took place. The defender was laid to rest with full military honors at the local Alley of Glory.
