While performing his duties at a stabilization point near Kostiantynivka, a police sergeant came under enemy fire and was killed. The tragedy occurred when the 30-year-old officer was attempting to assist the wounded.

Andriy Matyakh began his career in the Rivne Region Police Department in July 2023. Last June, without hesitation, he joined the newly formed infantry battalion and went to the front lines to defend his country.
The soldier is survived by his wife and four-year-old son.
