Today, on the Day of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, a solemn opening of the Memorial for Fallen Military Defenders took place in Rivne.

This memorial was created in honor of the fallen Defenders of the Operational Command “West,” who bravely fought for the country’s independence.
The area of responsibility of the Operational Command “West” covers eight Ukrainian regions, where fighters were the first to encounter the enemy and suffered the first losses.
The memorial features the emblem of the 13th Army Corps, which is its predecessor, as well as the modern emblem of the operational command. Nearby, a symbolic inscription has been placed: “Building the future, remembering the past!”
