Farewell to Four Defenders of Ukraine in Rivne Region

Ivan Kasyanychik, a native of the village of Mlynok, served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a driver-sapper in the engineering-sapper company of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hero of Ukraine Valerii Hudz. He bravely defended his homeland and was killed in battle on November 27, 2025, in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Yurii Tushych, who was born and lived in the village of Liubykovychy, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2024. He served as a grenade launcher in the 5th Separate Assault Kyiv Brigade, carrying out combat missions in the Bakhmut direction. For his dedication and courage, he was awarded the President of Ukraine’s distinction “For the Defense of Ukraine.” Unfortunately, his life was cut short on January 25, 2026, during his leave.

Serhii Bortnyk, born in 1986, lived in the village of Stepanhorod. He served as a shooter in the 1st rifle squad of the 2nd rifle platoon of the 5th rifle company of the 2nd rifle battalion. Serhii was killed on May 27, 2024, as a result of enemy shelling while performing a combat mission.

Pavlo Dorokhov, born on July 5, 1988, in Rivne, also joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the summer of 2023. He died on January 24, 2026, in one of the hospitals in Lviv due to injuries sustained in the Donetsk direction.
