The tragedy occurred yesterday, January 29, at approximately 5:30 PM on the “Kyiv-Kovel-Yahodin” highway.

According to the investigation, the driver of a “Volvo” truck with a semi-trailer carrying diesel fuel, a 29-year-old resident of the Poltava region, failed to maintain a safe speed and distance. He did not take into account the road situation and collided with a cyclist who was traveling in the same direction.
As a result of the injuries sustained, a 61-year-old resident of the village of Chudel in the Sarny district died at the scene.
The truck driver was sober. Investigative authorities have already initiated a pre-trial investigation.
