Drunk Driver Causes Accident in Rivne Region and Attempts to Bribe Police

Recently, on the N-22 Ustyluh-Lutsk-Rivne highway, near the village of Zorya, an accident occurred involving two vehicles, resulting in no injuries.

This is reported by Rivne24

Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene established that a 32-year-old driver of a VAZ vehicle failed to yield while entering the intersection, resulting in a collision with a Renault vehicle traveling on the main road. Both vehicles sustained mechanical damage.

During a conversation with the police, signs of alcohol intoxication were detected in the VAZ driver. The officers offered the man to undergo a sobriety test, but he refused.

As the police began to document the administrative materials, the 52-year-old driver attempted to evade responsibility by offering a bribe of 1000 hryvnias, placing the money in the police vehicle.

Despite numerous warnings about the criminal liability for such actions, the driver continued his unlawful behavior. As a result, the police called investigators to document the incident and clarify all circumstances.

The inspectors also compiled administrative materials against the driver for:
• Part 1 of Article 130 (Driving under the influence) of the Code of Administrative Offenses;
• Article 124 (Traffic violation resulting in an accident) of the Code of Administrative Offenses.
