A tragic road accident occurred on May 3 at around 20:20 in the village of Mayunichi on the “Kyiv-Kovel-Yahodin” highway.

According to preliminary investigation data, the driver of a “Jeep,” a 25-year-old resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region, while attempting to overtake, collided with a passenger car “Mitsubishi,” which was moving ahead and was turning left at that moment.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the “Mitsubishi,” a 52-year-old resident of the city of Stryi in the Lviv region, died at the scene of the accident. His passenger, a 31-year-old man from the Stryi district, sustained a closed head injury and contusion and was hospitalized in a hospital in Lutsk.
The investigator has initiated a pre-trial investigation under part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding violations of traffic safety rules that led to the death of the victim.
