As part of state environmental control conducted during the harvesting and sale of coniferous trees ahead of the New Year holidays, five cases of violations of environmental legislation were recorded in the Rivne region last week.

In particular, the following were identified:
- three cases of illegal cutting of coniferous trees — protocols on administrative offenses were drawn up for these incidents, and decisions were made to impose administrative penalties in accordance with Article 66 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses;
- two cases of violations regarding the sale of coniferous trees — protocols on administrative offenses were also drawn up in accordance with Article 88-1 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
The total amount of damage caused as a result of the identified violations exceeds 2,600 hryvnias.
Additionally, on December 24, inspectors conducted monitoring activities during the sale of Christmas trees in the city of Rivne. No violations of legislation were found at the locations on Vidinska and Volodymyra streets.
