In the past month, the perpetrators have defrauded ten residents of the Rivne region out of approximately one million hryvnias.

The scammers operated by posing as buyers on an online platform, where they contacted victims to purchase certain goods. One of the conditions of the deal was mandatory secure delivery.
The criminals sent phishing links to the victims via messengers, through which sellers were required to enter their confidential information to receive payment.
As soon as the secret information fell into the hands of the fraudsters, they immediately withdrew funds from the victims’ cards.
To avoid falling into the trap of scammers, it is recommended to:
- consider the possibility of fraud and not click on external links from buyers;
- discuss the details of the deal only in the chat of the trading platform;
- not provide or enter card expiration dates and CVV codes on unknown websites;
- know that to credit funds to your card, only its number is needed.
