The Rivne City Court has sentenced a 35-year-old offender to life imprisonment.

The tragedy occurred on the evening of July 25, 2023, in Rivne.
While under the influence of alcohol, the man, who had previously been convicted of attempted rape of a minor, encountered a 29-year-old woman returning from work on Chornovola Street.
The offender attacked the victim, strangled her until she lost consciousness, stole her belongings, and then raped her. When he realized he could be caught, he strangled the woman.
Law enforcement quickly identified the attacker and detained him, informing him of the charges. The court ordered his detention as a preventive measure.
During the trial, the accused admitted his guilt but did not express genuine remorse, explaining that he did not intend to kill the woman.
