The cold tests not only people but also stray animals.

At the KATP 1728, a Center for the sterilization of stray animals operates, where mainly injured, exhausted, and frightened four-legged creatures end up. Some animals have become victims of car accidents, while others have fled from explosions until they were exhausted.
Among those who have found their way to the Center are Belka, who suffered a spinal injury, and Bruno – a dog found in a critical condition in a field. Volunteers are making efforts to save them and find new owners.
“The veterinarian monitors the treatment process of the animals. The Center organizes aid collections for such dogs. This is a difficult time not only for people but also for animals. Firstly, the frost is very severe. Dogs are dehydrated, starving, and freezing. The number of injured dogs has increased. There are animals that we simply warm up; for them, a bed has been set up in the room near the radiator,” said the head of the Center for the sterilization of stray animals, Tamara Syrotynska.
Animal rights activists urge the residents of Rivne to show compassion towards stray animals, especially during the winter period. They appeal to shop owners to allow cats and dogs into their establishments during severe frosts.
Those looking for a pet or a friend are invited to visit the Center at the address: Rivne, Kyivska St., 100G.
