A 43-year-old man was detained in Rivne after he called emergency services to “test their response.” While under the influence of alcohol, he called the emergency line “102” at 1:10 PM and claimed that a cinema was bombed, also stating that he had a grenade with him.

Emergency response teams, including investigators, bomb disposal experts, dog handlers, and other emergency services, quickly arrived at the scene. As a result of the incident, approximately 200 people were evacuated from the premises.
After inspecting the building and surrounding area, no explosive devices were found. However, nearby, patrol police noticed a suspicious man. During questioning, he admitted that he made the call to see how emergency services operate.
An investigator is conducting a pre-trial investigation under part 1 of Article 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The man has been detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Investigative actions are ongoing, and the question of possibly notifying him of suspicion is being considered.
