Law enforcement officials found out that on May 8 at around 00:30 in the village of Orlivka, a conflict arose between a 43-year-old woman and her 49-year-old husband on the grounds of jealousy. During the quarrel, the man took a kitchen knife and inflicted one stab wound to the woman’s chest area.
The victim independently called the police and an ambulance. She was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Berezne City Hospital with a penetrating wound that led to pneumothorax, a laceration of the liver, and internal bleeding.
The 49-year-old man was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility. Currently, the issue of notifying him of suspicion is being resolved.
