A 38-year-old resident of Kostopil has been sentenced to 5 years in prison for causing a fatal DUI accident.

According to the results of a medical examination, the man’s blood alcohol content was found to be 2.14 promille. The investigator detained him in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and brought charges against him.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention, where the defendant remains to this day. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the materials of the criminal case have been submitted to the court.
Recently, the court made a ruling in this case, imposing a sentence of 5 years in prison. However, the verdict has not yet taken legal effect and can be appealed within 30 days.
