Oleg Shandruk Criticized Veres’ Performance After Draw Match

The head coach of the Rivne club Veres, Oleg Shandruk, evaluated the result of the draw match in the championship against Kudrivka.

According to the coach, there is a greater sense of negativity after the game. “We wanted to win, but the desire to play is one thing, and what happens on the field is quite another. Therefore, perhaps the result is justified. This was not the most interesting match for the fans, as the number of created chances was extremely low,” Shandruk noted.

The coach also pointed out the weather conditions that may have affected the game. “Today it was very windy at the stadium, which is unusual for our field. It dried out quickly, leading to more struggle and long passes. If the weather conditions had been better, the match could have been more interesting,” he added.

Shandruk emphasized the need to draw the right conclusions from the game and prepare for the next match. “A third of the matches are still ahead, and now is not the time to fixate on the standings. We are focusing on the training process and the present,” he reported.

The coach also highlighted the importance of the psychological aspect after two consecutive losses. “If we focus on the defeats, it does not add optimism. Our task is to find positive moments. In previous games, we had many chances, and today we were set for a good match. Unfortunately, today we have only one point, but it is deserved, as we did not earn the win,” Shandruk emphasized.

The coach noted the team’s aggression in the final third of the field. “We lacked aggression both in playing with the ball and without it. Especially in the battle for neutral balls. Those few percentage points of aggression during the game were missing, and we could have played better,” he concluded.
