Oleg Shandruk: We Need to Be Patient for Improved Results

The head coach of the Rivne football club Veres, Oleg Shandruk, summarized the results of the lost home match against Kolos.

This is reported by Rivne24

Oleg Shandruk noted that the team reacts to the previous game and conducts training sessions, which influences the formation of the starting lineup. “We see the players’ work in the training process and make decisions about the starting lineup right before the game,” he emphasized.

Commenting on the substitutions during the match, the coach pointed out the tense nature of the game: “One micro-episode could have influenced the referee’s decision. And Serhiy Korniychuk was on a yellow card, so it was decided to substitute him for Maksym Smiian.”

Regarding another player, Fabrizio, Shandruk remarked: “We know his potential, but he needs time to adapt. We need results, but today he did not provide that. Therefore, he was substituted.”

The coach also commented on Guilherme’s injury: “The doctor said he has a bruise. If a player feels pain and cannot continue the game, we cannot leave him on the field.”

The team has an international break ahead, and Shandruk plans to give the players some rest: “From Thursday, we will resume the training process. Next week, we will start preparing for the game against Polissia.”

The coach acknowledged that he understands the fans’ dissatisfaction with the team’s results. “There is a certain strategy for the club. We need to understand this and be patient. Name at least one attacking player who played for us last season. Do you understand what I’m talking about?” he added.

Shandruk emphasized that the situation is disappointing for everyone: “This concerns everyone – the players, the coach, and the fans. But I don’t know another formula. These players have certain qualities, but our league is quite competitive and physical. We need to get used to this and do it through the training process. I don’t know another formula.”

“I have been coaching for quite a while to understand that improving qualities – physical, mental, technical – only happens in the training process. Our task today is to gather on Thursday and continue to work hard. That’s all,” the coach concluded.
