Oleg Shandruk on the Future of Veres: Two Possible Paths for Development

The head coach of the Rivne club Veres, Oleg Shandruk, summed up the results of the home match loss against Kryvbas from Kryvyi Rih.

Shandruk noted that the game was dynamic, despite the short recovery time after the match in Lviv. “In fact, it was a decent, quite dynamic game. Despite the fact that there wasn’t much time to recover after the match in Lviv. But, again, we need data from the sensors to analyze this. The second factor is that we have nothing to compare it with. This is the first time this season we have such a short break between matches,” he said.

The coach also pointed out that there was a forced rotation in the center of defense, as Kai Tsipot missed the game due to a card accumulation. “He is a key player for us, one of the leaders. Losing such a player is always felt by the team. Instead, Igor Kharatin played deeper. We have long wanted to try him as a central defender – specifically in a pair, not in a trio of center-backs. I believe he played quite solidly,” emphasized Shandruk.

Two players from the U19 team, Dmytro Murashko and Dmytro Matkivskyi, also made their debut in the match. “We signaled to them that our team is ready to give time to players who deserve it. This is a motivation for them to continue working. I have already said that the difference between the U19 and UPL levels is significant, and this is a bonus for them today, so they continue to work and improve their qualities. And we are ready to create the necessary conditions for them, a platform for development. But a lot will depend on them,” he noted.

Shandruk emphasized the importance of proper analysis, particularly in the attacking line. “We have two paths after the championship finishes. The first is to develop players we will rely on, improving their qualities. Because we have youth that we can work with. And the second is to focus on selection to improve our scoring efficiency. Because indeed, we are one of the teams that scores the least in the championship. And this is a problem for us. I understand this clearly,” the coach concluded.
