The traffic accident occurred on February 15, around 02:45, on the “Lviv-Krakowiec” highway near the village of Koguty in the Yavoriv district.

Preliminary investigations have established that the driver of the Van Hool bus, a 25-year-old resident of Ternopil, hit a pedestrian, a 29-year-old resident of Rivne region.
Unfortunately, as a result of the injuries sustained, the pedestrian died at the scene.
The law enforcement officers from the transport crimes investigation department of the Lviv police have opened a criminal proceeding under Part 2 of Article 286 (Violation of Traffic Safety Rules) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to eight years, as well as a possible ban on driving vehicles for up to three years.
