Posthumous Awards: Relatives of Soldiers from Rivne Region Received Recognition

The Zdolbuniv City Council announced the awarding of two fallen heroes.

Yuriy Kovalchuk, a resident of Zdolbuniv, was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, III class. The award was received by his wife and children. Yuriy joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2024, carrying out combat missions in the Kharkiv direction. Despite sustaining injuries and concussions, he continued to fight for his country. Unfortunately, his life was cut short on April 24, 2025. At the time of his death, he was 49 years old.

Oleksandr Didovets was also posthumously awarded the Order of the Hero’s Cross. The award was received by his children. Oleksandr was drafted into service in October 2024 and served as a driver in a mortar platoon. He tragically lost his life in January 2025, leaving behind memories and pride in his family and community.
