On January 3 at 06:03, the emergency service received a report of a traffic accident with casualties on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Kryliv in the Dubno district.

Rescuers from the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit in Dubno and the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Team were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, the rescuers found that three cars had collided: a Kia Rio, a Renault Zoe, and a Volkswagen Golf. The Kia Rio sustained severe mechanical damage, and the body of a woman who died at the scene from her injuries was trapped in the mangled vehicle. To free the deceased, the rescuers used specialized hydraulic and electric equipment.
As a result of the accident, two people lost their lives, including one child who was hospitalized before the arrival of the rescuers. Two other individuals were also injured, one of whom was a child.
Traffic at the scene was organized with a reverse flow past the highway guardrail. Currently, police are investigating all circumstances of the accident and the causes that led to the tragic outcomes.
One special vehicle from the 5th State Fire and Rescue Unit and one special emergency rescue vehicle (SARM-S) from the Special Purpose Emergency Rescue Team were involved in the rescue operations.
