The tragic incident occurred on October 4 at around 5:30 AM in the village of Verba.

According to preliminary information, a 75-year-old resident of the village, while holding his bicycle, began to cross the railway tracks and was struck by a train operating on the route “Vorokhta-Chop-Kyiv.” Despite emergency braking, the man was pulled onto the tracks due to the air wave created by the train.
The pensioner was taken to the intensive care unit with severe injuries; however, unfortunately, he could not be saved. A few hours after receiving medical assistance, he passed away.
An investigator has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the violation of railway safety regulations that led to the man’s death.
