Rivne Bids Farewell to Fallen Defender Yevhen Hrabovyi

Yevhen Hrabovyi, who was born on October 11, 1992, in the village of Mostove in Mykolaiv Oblast, left a deep mark in the hearts of his loved ones and friends. After finishing local school, he continued his education in Mykolaiv and later moved to Odesa, where he built his life.

This is reported by Rivne24

On the first day of the full-scale invasion by Russia, Yevhen decided to defend his country by joining the territorial defense in Odesa. Six months later, he took his wife and young child to her relatives in Rivne, and voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to fight for the freedom of his homeland.

“He was a true patriot – he tried to do everything he could to bring our victory closer. He never waited for someone else to do something or change things for him. Yevhen went to war so that his loved ones could live in a free Ukraine. He is an example for his son,” said the Defender’s wife.

Family and friends remember Yevhen as a kind and caring person, always ready to help. According to his comrades, he repeatedly saved the lives of others, staying with his fellow soldiers until the very end.

Unfortunately, 32-year-old Junior Sergeant Yevhen Hrabovyi was killed on November 19, 2024, while performing a combat mission in Kharkiv Oblast. For a year, he was considered missing in action, and only recently did DNA testing confirm his death.

Yevhen is survived by his wife, son, and parents, who mourn him deeply.

The farewell to Yevhen Hrabovyi will take place on Monday, November 24, at 10:00 AM in Independence Square in Rivne. A memorial service will be held at the Holy Protection Cathedral, and the burial will take place at the Alley of Heroes in the “Nove” cemetery in the regional center.
