In Rivne, four lives were saved thanks to a posthumous donor

At the Rivne Regional Clinical Hospital named after Yuriy Semenyuk, a multi-organ donation took place for the second time. Thanks to the efforts of transplant coordinators, anesthesiologists, surgeons, neurosurgeons, and specialists from the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology named after O.O. Shalimov, as well as the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv, a heart, liver, and two kidneys were retrieved from the posthumous donor.

This is reported by Rivne24

The donor was a young patient who suffered a hemorrhage. The doctors fought for his life until the end, but were forced to declare brain death. After consultations with relatives, they agreed to grant permission for organ retrieval to save the lives of four other critically ill patients.

The surgeries were successful: the heart, liver, and one kidney were transplanted at the National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology named after O.O. Shalimov, while the other kidney was transplanted at the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv.
