A man, previously convicted multiple times, attempted to hide by changing into someone else’s clothes, but detectives quickly uncovered him. The suspect is currently in a temporary detention facility.

Yesterday, March 18, around 14:15, a 34-year-old woman reported to the police that an unknown man had stolen a bag from a 64-year-old vendor who was outside at the market in the regional center and fled. The perpetrator was hiding in a house on Heavenly Hundred Street.
Detectives from the Rivne District Police Department promptly arrived at the scene. In the restroom of a small family-type house, they found the stolen bag, personal belongings of the victim, and over 500 hryvnias. In one of the apartments, the police discovered two men and a woman.
Thanks to the informational support from the criminal analysis sector, the police established that a 31-year-old resident of Rivne ran into the house, exchanged clothes with those present, and hid part of the stolen money in his socks.
The stolen items, as well as the clothes the perpetrator wore during the crime, were seized. The man, who had recently been released from prison, was detained by investigators under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of his suspicion of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 186 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery committed under martial law).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved.
