Police established that in December of last year, in the village of Kvasyliv, a 32-year-old local resident, along with a 64-year-old villager, was drinking alcohol near a store. The older man provided his bank card to the younger one to purchase drinks. However, when the 32-year-old returned, his acquaintance was already gone. Taking advantage of the card, he made purchases totaling over 16,500 hryvnias.
Additionally, on January 1 of this year, the offender inflicted minor bodily harm on a 49-year-old acquaintance by throwing a glass bottle at her face.
Three days later, while at the home of a 58-year-old villager, he stole gold jewelry worth nearly 382,000 hryvnias, part of which he pawned.
Furthermore, during a search of the hotel room rented by the 32-year-old resident of Kvasyliv, police seized an M-67 grenade.
The offender was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The prosecutor’s office informed the 32-year-old man of his suspicion of committing crimes under Part 4 of Article 185 (theft committed repeatedly and under martial law), Part 1 of Article 263 (illegal acquisition, carrying, and storage of ammunition without the required legal permission), Part 1 of Article 125 (intentional minor bodily harm), and Part 1 of Article 357 (theft of an official document committed for selfish motives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The court chose a preventive measure in the form of round-the-clock house arrest with electronic monitoring. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the materials of the criminal proceedings have been sent to court.
