The traffic accident occurred yesterday, February 18, at approximately 4:40 PM on Semidubskaya Street. According to preliminary information, a 39-year-old resident of the village of Zaluzhya, driving a “Ford Focus,” was inattentively moving and crashed into a metal fence located in front of a railway crossing.
As a result of the impact, part of the fence flew off and injured a 36-year-old woman who was walking on the sidewalk. The victim was taken to the hospital with a broken nose and jaw.
The investigator detained the driver in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, after which he was placed in a temporary detention facility.
An investigation is ongoing, and the issue of notifying the driver of suspicion and choosing a preventive measure is being resolved. According to legislation, the penalty under the article provides for up to three years of imprisonment.
