A criminal case has been initiated in the Rivne district against the mother of a 22-year-old serviceman, who, according to her son, misappropriated state funds intended for him.

Law enforcement officials have recorded the information in the Unified Register of Statements and Reports, commencing an investigation into this matter.
It is known that the soldier was in captivity for three years, during which his family received approximately 4,000,000 hryvnias. After his release, the soldier claims that his mother refused to return these funds.
According to preliminary information, the woman is currently abroad.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under part 5 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (fraud in especially large amounts) and are currently establishing all the circumstances of the case.
