On December 25, around 7 PM, a conflict arose in the village of Smyha between a 50-year-old man and his 41-year-old relative due to domestic issues.

According to the investigation, the younger man accused the older one of inadequate care for his elderly mother. During the conflict, the 41-year-old assailant struck his relative at least 5 times with his hands, feet, and a wooden log. After that, he left the scene.
Two days later, upon returning, the assailant found the man on the floor without signs of life. He called the police himself.
According to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the 50-year-old victim died from traumatic shock, multiple rib fractures, and chest injuries.
The investigator detained the 41-year-old suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and informed him of the charges. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect is being resolved.
