An unknown woman called an 86-year-old resident of the village of Novyi Korets, claiming that her son had been in a car accident — he hit a child and urgently needed money for treatment.

The scammer, not giving the pensioner a chance to recover, insisted that the woman not hang up and immediately gather the money and hurry to the nearest branch to make a transfer.
In a state of stress, the woman collected all her savings and, staying on the line with the scammer, headed to the logistics company’s branch. Without verifying the information’s accuracy, she transferred 80 thousand hryvnias to the provided details.
The police remind you: if unknown individuals call you asking for money for the “rescue” of a relative, immediately end the conversation.
