In Rivne Region, the Memory of Ukrainian Defender Anatoliy Kusiak is Honored

Today, May 15, 2026, in Rivne Region, we bid farewell to Ukrainian Defender Anatoliy Nesterovych Kusiak.

Anatoliy Nesterovych, born on July 13, 1970, in the village of Poliske, spent his childhood and youth here, receiving his education at the local school and shaping his life path.

As a senior sergeant and commander of a special forces unit, he defended Ukraine since March 2022. His comrades knew him by the call sign “Ded”.

Anatoliy was killed on December 5, 2022, while carrying out a combat mission in Donetsk region, long considered missing in action.

For his displayed heroism and self-sacrifice, he was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage III degree and posthumously granted the title of “Honorary Citizen of the Bereznivka City Territorial Community”.

Anatoliy is survived by his wife Valentina, children Taras and Yuliya, grandchildren Nazar, Dasha, Artem, Arsen, and Mykyta, as well as his sister Lyudmyla.
