On February 25, the police received a report from the mother of the deceased child, a 30-year-old woman from Radivyliv, about the theft of 14 soft toys from the child’s grave at the local cemetery.
The police promptly began searching for the perpetrator. Through the analysis of surveillance camera footage, it was established that the offense was committed by a 45-year-old resident of the Radivyliv territorial community, who has been living in the Ternopil region for about six years.
The stolen toys were seized from the suspect’s residence and returned to the child’s mother.
Currently, the issue of holding the woman accountable for the crime under part 1 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (desecration of a grave) is being resolved.
