The petition, registered on March 19, gathered the required 250 votes within a day.
This is reported by Rivne24
According to the text of the petition, the city authorities are urged to prohibit churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) from using speakers, loudspeakers, and other sound amplification equipment to broadcast their services outside the temples.
In particular, it concerns the services from the lower church of the Holy Resurrection Cathedral, which belongs to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
“It is done so loudly that many residents of Rivne, who are not parishioners of the specified church, have to listen to the Ukrainian language of these services”
– emphasize the authors of the appeal.
Moreover, they note that Russian-language singing can be heard during the nationwide moment of silence, and the sound from the loudspeakers can reach even Independence Square, where portraits of the Heroes who died in the Russian-Ukrainian war, supported by the aggressor state, are located, with which the UOC (MP) has still not severed canonical unity.
As of March 20, the petition has already gathered the necessary 250 votes, so it will be considered and a response will be provided.
