In Rivne region, based on the materials of the Security Service of Ukraine, a woman has been sentenced in absentia to 15 years of imprisonment for voluntarily switching sides and leading an illegal government body in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
This is reported by Rivne24
The Security Service established that a 52-year-old resident of the Republic of Belarus, who had been living in Yevpatoria for a long time, held leadership positions in educational institutions before the full-scale invasion of Russia.
After the peninsula was seized, she agreed to the “offer” from representatives of the occupying authorities and participated in the so-called “competition for the position of head of the Yevpatoria city administration,” where she was appointed as the “head” of the illegal government body.
During her two years in this position, the individual assisted the occupying authorities, organized propaganda activities among the local population, and disseminated anti-Ukrainian materials in support of the aggressor state.
Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service, the Rivne City Court found her guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law) and sentenced her to 15 years of imprisonment in absentia with confiscation of property.
