The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the State Border Guard Service and the National Police, has discovered and detained a participant in a criminal scheme for draft evaders in the Rivne region.
This is reported by Rivne24
The investigation established that the detainee is a 43-year-old driver from one of the city councils in the Volyn region. He was searching for “clients” through intermediaries and, using his own vehicle, attempted to transport men of draft age to border areas, bypassing checkpoints and roadblocks.
According to the instructions, the “draft evaders” were to follow strict guidelines to avoid detection by border guards and law enforcement. The perpetrator was caught “in the act” while trying to transport three men of draft age, residents of the Rivne, Kyiv, and Kharkiv regions.
For his “services,” he planned to receive 16 thousand US dollars. Currently, investigative actions are underway to establish all circumstances and individuals involved in this offense.
According to information from the Sarny District Prosecutor’s Office, the perpetrator has already been notified of suspicion of committing a crime under part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal transportation of persons across the state border).
The exposure of this scheme was carried out by employees of the SBU in the Rivne region together with the Ninth Border Detachment named after the Sich Riflemen and the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Rivne region under the procedural guidance of the Sarny District Prosecutor’s Office.
