A scheme has been uncovered in Rivne that allowed conscripts to evade mobilization by creating false employment relationships at a critical infrastructure enterprise.
This is reported by Rivne24
These circumstances became known from the verdict of the Rivne City Court issued on April 28. One of the participants in the scheme, Oleksandr Y., admitted his guilt and received a conditional sentence of 5 years.
According to information, in 2023, Oleksandr began searching for individuals of conscription age so that they could avoid mobilization based on false information about employment relationships with LLC “Rivneteploenergo”.
Another participant was involved in this scheme, and a pre-trial investigation is ongoing in another criminal proceeding regarding him. It is known that he received money for processing the documents.
The court ruling indicates three instances where Oleksandr Y. received monetary rewards from conscripts. The amounts were $200, $500, and $3200.
The man’s arrest occurred at the end of 2024 when he was attempting to negotiate with a conscript for a monetary reward for creating false employment relationships to avoid mobilization.
The court approved a plea agreement between the prosecutor and the defendant, sentencing him to 5 years in prison with a conditional release after one year.
