On February 7, two cases of carbon monoxide poisoning occurred in the Rivne region, resulting in six people being affected. The cause of both incidents was the failure to follow the operating rules for electric generators.
This is reported by Rivne24
The first case happened at 1:30 PM in the town of Korets in the Rivne district, where a man born in 2003 and two women born in 2000 and 2006 were hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Korets City Hospital with a diagnosis of “carbon monoxide poisoning.”
The second incident occurred at 11:20 PM in the town of Sarny on Hrushevskyi Street. As a result of carbon monoxide poisoning, the following individuals were affected: a man born in 1976 (in serious condition, unconscious, hospitalized in the intensive care unit), a woman born in 1979 (mild poisoning, hospitalized in the emergency department), and a boy born in 2010 (moderate poisoning, hospitalized in the children’s department of the Sarny Central District Hospital).
Rescuers once again emphasize the importance of following safety rules: electric generators should only be used outdoors or in well-ventilated areas, strictly adhering to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ignoring these recommendations can have fatal consequences.
