Soldier from Rivne Region Yuriy Tushych Passes Away During Leave

The Sarny community mourns the loss: on January 25, 2026, during his leave, 38-year-old Senior Soldier Yuriy Tushych, a resident of the village of Lyubykovychy, passed away.

Yuriy Petrovych Tushych was born and raised in his native village. After graduating from Lyubykovychy School, he continued his education at Rivne Technical College, where he trained as an electric gas welder. In civilian life, Yuriy established himself as a hardworking, responsible, and sincere man, someone you could always rely on. He was a caring father and a dependable friend.

In August 2024, Yuriy Tushych took up the defense of Ukraine by joining the Armed Forces. He served in the 5th Separate Assault Kyiv Brigade as a grenade launcher and carried out combat missions in the Bakhmut direction. For his courage and dedication, he was awarded the President of Ukraine’s distinction “For the Defense of Ukraine.” Yuriy served honorably, fulfilling his military duty with dignity and remaining true to his oath, his comrades, and his country.

In deep sorrow, he is mourned by his brother Oleksandr and his son Mykola.

Farewell and burial will take place tomorrow, January 29. At 10:00 AM, the cortege will begin its route through the city as follows:

  • Kostopilska – Yevropeiska – Kotliarevskyi – Soborna – Lyukhcha – Hlushytsia – Strilsk – Lyubykovychy

11:00 AM – farewell at home (Centralna St., 38)

12:00 PM – funeral service at the local church

1:30 PM – burial at the local cemetery
