Oleksandr Savchuk from Sarny, Igor Yasyinsky from Volodymyrets, Andriy Polishchuk from Kostopil, Bogdan Hamaiunov from the Horodets community, and Volodymyr Samchuk from Ostroh have become heroes who were laid to rest in the Rivne region.

Oleksandr Savchuk, who was born and lived in the village of Horodets in the Sarny territorial community, joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine on January 12, 2025, to defend Ukraine. Unfortunately, his heart stopped in the hospital on January 13, 2026, due to injuries sustained.
Igor Yasyinsky, a sergeant in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, was born in 1978 in the village of Berestivka in Volodymyrets. He served as a machine gunner in the mechanized platoon of the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade. Igor’s death was only recently confirmed through genetic testing, as he went missing on January 9, 2025, after completing a combat mission on January 6, 2025.
Andriy Polishchuk lived his entire life in Kostopil and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine in February 2025. His identity was established in January 2026 through a DNA profile match. The soldier was killed on May 12, 2025, while performing a combat mission in Sumy region.
Bogdan Hamaiunov, born on October 14, 1979, in the village of Bronnyky, took up arms to defend his homeland on March 14, 2022. He was considered missing in action in Donetsk region since October 4, 2025, and his identity was confirmed through DNA testing.
Volodymyr Samchuk lived in the village of Hroziv and was killed on January 21, 2026, as a result of an enemy FPV drone strike while performing a combat mission.
