A 27-year-old resident of Zdolbuniv reported to the police that after a taxi ride, he could not find 2,400 dollars and 950 euros in his bag.
The law enforcement officers identified the criminal, who turned out to be a 37-year-old resident of Rivne, working part-time as a taxi driver and transporting the victim to the hospital.

During the ride, the driver asked the client to lend him 2,000 hryvnias. The passenger, who had previously used this taxi driver’s services, agreed but explained that he only had dollars. After exchanging 100 dollars at a currency exchange, he gave the required amount.
When they arrived at the hospital, the 27-year-old passenger took part of the money and left the bag in the car. At that moment, the taxi driver seized the opportunity and stole all the money. Discovering the theft the next day, the victim immediately reported it to the police.
The offender admitted his guilt and voluntarily returned the stolen funds to the authorities.
