During the first 10 months of 2025, there were 162 reported cases of Lyme disease in the Rivne region, which is 17.4% more compared to the same period last year.

There is also a noted doubling of cases of borreliosis infection among children.

According to studies conducted by the laboratory of particularly dangerous infections, one in five ticks collected from natural ecosystems was found to be infected with Borrelia. This indicates the risk associated with any tick attachment to humans.

The results of acarological monitoring showed that in the Rivne region, over the first 10 months of the current year, two species of ixodid ticks predominated. Their numbers varied from 2–10 per flag/km in urban recreational areas to 15–22 in the Forest-Steppe and 23–29 in the Polissya, which corresponds to the norms for the climatic conditions of Rivne region.
