The International Christmas Theatre Festival «Scrooge Fest» returns to Rivne after a successful debut last year. The idea for its creation emerged in 2023 when Rivne’s theater professionals, with the support of their Polish colleagues, prepared the play «Scrooge. A Christmas Story», based on the classic works of Charles Dickens.

The success of the production spurred the organization of a large-scale artistic and social event that unites representatives from the cultural, scientific, business, and industrial sectors.
This year, «Scrooge Fest» will launch a new concert program titled «Christmas Symphonies», which will become an important musical event for Christmas in Ukraine.
On December 6 and 7, the stage of the Rivne Regional Academic Ukrainian Musical and Dramatic Theatre will feature symphonic versions of the most beloved Christmas carols and songs, created by the renowned Ukrainian composer Ivan Nebesny.
The program includes performances of works such as «Shchedryk», «Dark Night», «God is Born», «What a Wonder!» and others. These pieces will be performed by the orchestra and choir of the Rivne Music Vocational College under the direction of Honored Artist of Ukraine Hennadiy Fiskov, Anastasia Yakimova, and Oleksandr Odintsov.
The idea for the project «Christmas Symphonies» belongs to the poet and publisher, director of the «A-ba-ba-ha-la-ma-ha» publishing house, Ivan Malkovych, who suggested that the composer develop instrumental versions of carols for the audio accompaniment of books.
