Veteran of the Emergency Services of Rivne Region, Serhiy Holovko, Participant of Chernobyl, Passes Away

The Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Rivne Region has reported the death of Serhiy Vasylovych Holovko – a veteran of the Emergency Service of Ukraine and former commander of the military unit D-0080, located in the village of Horodysche in Rivne Region.

Serhiy Vasylovych passed away at the age of 67 after a long battle with a serious illness.

Born on March 25, 1959, in the city of Novograd-Volynskyi, he dedicated his entire life to serving the state and the Ukrainian people.

Serhiy Holovko was a graduate of the Kamianets-Podilskyi Higher Military Engineering Command School, a participant in combat operations in Afghanistan (1982–1984) and in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster (1986).

A veteran of the Emergency Service and a retired colonel, he rose from the commander of an engineering sapper platoon to the commander of a military unit. His service was always associated with dangerous tasks, which he carried out with honor and professionalism.

Farewell to Serhiy Vasylovych will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025:

  • – 12:30 near the house (15 Volyn Division Street, entrance 12);
  • – 13:30 at the house of mourning (33 Energetykiv Street).
