18-Year-Old Resident of Rivne Region Organized Men’s Exit from Ukraine for 12,000 Euros

Police discovered that an 18-year-old resident of the village of Hlynne promised two conscript-age men a hassle-free exit from Ukraine, providing them with recommendations and instructions.

Using a vehicle, the young man planned to bypass checkpoints and deliver his “clients” to an agreed location. However, his actions were detected by police from the VП №2 (village of Rokytne) and border guards.

For his services, he demanded 12,000 euros, 6,000 from each of the men.

Law enforcement detained the 18-year-old perpetrator under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and, under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor’s office, charged him with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This article covers the organization of illegal transportation of individuals across the state border of Ukraine, providing assistance in committing this crime through consultations, instructions, provision of means, and removal of obstacles, if committed by a group of individuals in collusion and for mercenary motives.

The court chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for 60 days, with the possibility of bail set at 565,760 hryvnias, which the young man has not yet paid.

Under this article, the criminal could face imprisonment for a term of 7 to 9 years.
